This talk delves into bridging the gap and fostering digital inclusion to ensure that everyone can participate and benefit from the digital realm. The focus of this talk is on DigiHandig, an innovative learning solution, from which we draw essential insights and best practices. By diving deeper into the distinction between formal digital accessibility and genuine digital inclusion, we aim to emphasize the transformative potential of inclusive design.

Biography
Kristel Thieme is the founder and director of New Future Lab. This engineering graduate of the Delft University of Technology (2017) is a driving force behind various innovative projects in the area of education, digital inclusion and entrepreneurship. As an innovation partner for both public and private organizations, Kristel works on the development and upscaling of societal innovations. Since 2020, she's sunk her teeth into the topic of digital inclusion and is now leading an innovation partnership with the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK). The goals is to develop a human-centric, innovative and scalable learning solution for the digital world. The solution, called "DigiHandig", includes a free app and makes learning about smartphones and tablets more accessible, safe, and engaging.
