Sneak preview: VR/AR-sector report 2022

The new cabinet wants to explicitly involve the creative industries in the major social challenges. And that is exactly what we want to achieve with the intended programme about Immersive Content! The programme focuses on current challenges in areas such as housing, care, climate, safety, inclusiveness and agriculture.

Together with the VR/AR Association, CLICKNL is working on the VR/AR sector report 2022. With this, we visualise the Dutch VR/AR ecosystem for a wide audience of clients, investors, press and government. We invited companies to participate by filling in a questionnaire. 73 companies have done this: many thanks for your contribution!

Sneak preview: the results
The questionnaire is now closed. We expect to be able to share the sector report with you mid January. Here are a few initial results and insights based on the 73 participating companies:

  • 38% has been around for more than 7 years
  • 54% of companies employ more than 10 people, 15% more than 35.
  • 56% of companies are active in both AR and VR, another 31% are active in VR only.
  • Two thirds of companies make applications for training and education. Other frequently mentioned areas of application are visualisation, entertainment and healthcare.
