__ A Real Virtual Reality Experience __

Because media budgets are not in line with the emergence of new digital media, such as Virtual and Augmented Reality, it is important for organizations but also difficult to make the right strategic choices to reach and involve the target group. Marnix van Gisbergen lecturer Digital Media Concepts at Breda University of Applied Sciences helps organizations create and test new immersive media strategies and content (VR, AR, MR).

At DRIVE he discussed what we have learned so far about the added value of VR/AR/MR compared to traditional media. To explain when you should or should not opt for immersive media to reach and engage your audience, Marnix explained the VR adoption model and the so-called Five-P-Model - Presence, Proximity, Perspective, Point of View, Participation and Place – that he used in one of his recent studies.

Marnix van Gisbergen is professor in Digital Media Concepts at the Academy for Digital Entertainment, part of Breda University of Applied Sciences. Marnix studied (Ms 1998), worked as a teacher/researcher (1998-2006) and obtained his PhD in Communication Sciences at Radboud University Nijmegen (2006). He was research director of DVJ Insights and the youth company YoungVotes (2005-2012).
