SafeGenAI: Safe Generative AI tools for Creative Industries: current and future practices
How can we harness the creative potential of generative AI without losing sight of the makers behind the work? SafeGenAI explores how designers, audiovisual creators, and cultural institutions can work with generative AI (GenAI) in a safe and fair way—without compromising ownership, reputation, or income.
The project develops practical tools that give creative professionals control over how their work is used. These include privacy-enhancing technologies, attribution-aware AI models, a benchmark for measuring creativity, and a clickable UX prototype that allows creators to set their rights and see the impact. All tools are co-created, based on interviews with professionals from the creative sector.
SafeGenAI also explores new business models around AI-driven creation and investigates how to responsibly implement GenAI in design education, studios, and cultural institutions. The outcomes help creative professionals keep their value visible in an AI-driven economy.
