Chemielab

The chemical industry is working on innovation projects that contribute to a safe, circular, and climate-neutral society. These projects can introduce new safety risks.

Key stakeholders include local residents, employees, suppliers, and regulators. A lack of trust regarding environmental safety risks can cause delays. New forms of collaboration and knowledge sharing about (un)safety can accelerate innovation and generate societal value.

The Systemic Co-Design Expertise Network uses the Co-Design Canvas and the Systems Innovation with Labs Model in this project. The Co-Design Canvas helps stakeholders jointly map differences in interests, knowledge, experience, and power dynamics, making complex relationships clearer.

The method supports a structured dialogue focused from the start on positive impact and concrete results. All parties — from residents and employees to regulators and suppliers — have a voice and can contribute to solutions. This fosters trust and understanding, which are essential for improved collaboration and faster innovation processes.

€50,000,- will be used as a PPP program grant.
