Virtual Worlds at Media Jaarcongres

On the 29th of June 2017 the Media Jaarcongres 2017 takes place at Studio 21. During the expert session Virtual Worlds, organised by iMMovator, the FieldLab Virtual Worlds will kick off and we look into inspiring Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality applications in the media- and heritage sector. The expert session is held between 14:00-15:30 pm at the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. Register on the website of Media Jaarcongres 2017.

Demos and experiences

  • Pieter Siekerman, VR-specialist at 24i and &Samhoud media (the company behind the VR Cinema in Amsterdam), about the impact of VR/AR on tv-interfaces.
  • Cyril de Vroom, CTO at Sensiks, about the technical challenges in making their multi sensory interactive experience cabin: the Sensikspod.
  • Martin Prins, senior media consultant at TNO about TogetherVR: what do you need to make VR a shared social experience?

Participants have the opportunity to experience VR, trying demos from Sensiks and TNO at the foyer of Studio 21. Be aware, the demos are only available for participants of the Media Jaarcongres 2017.

KICK OFF FIELDLAB VIRTUAL WORLDS

Patricia Alkhoven (CLICKNL/cultural heritage/Levend Verleden) gives a preview of the FieldLab Virtual Worlds, including a Pop Up Lab and tips about financing projects between heritage institutions and VR/AR developers, starting this summer. The Lab will organise workshops and meetups, in which creative professionals can experiment with new Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality technology to design new applications with and/or for the heritage sector.
