Pilot Programme Cultural and Creative Sector strengthens collaboration with applied research

The cultural and creative sector plays a vital role in imagining and shaping societal change. To further harness that potential, Taskforce for Applied Research SIA, the Creative Industries Fund NL and the Cultural Fund have launched the three-year Pilot Programme Cultural and Creative Sector (2025–2027) to explore how collaboration with applied research can be strengthened. CLICKNL supports this programme.

The programme focuses on strengthening knowledge development and exchange within the cultural and creative sector through applied research. It emphasises innovative and equitable forms of collaboration that contribute to societal challenges.

The pilot offers room for experimentation and lays the foundation for sustainable, cross-sector collaboration. It focuses on two main lines of action:

  • Professionalisation and network development: supporting universities of applied sciences and the cultural and creative sector in developing and implementing joint research projects, and building networks with strategic stakeholders.
  • Funding instruments: developing tailored funding schemes aimed at strengthening the sector’s knowledge base and supporting long-term collaboration.

More information about the programme, its focus areas and ongoing initiatives can be found on the website of Taskforce for Applied Research SIA Dutch.
