Open call: Living apart together

At a time when the COVID-19 virus is gripping public life worldwide and radically changing our urban life, social distancing is the new standard. RAUM is looking for installations for the public space that encourage social exchange between people who do not know each other and that guarantee a distance of 1.5 meters. Creative makers can submit a proposal until 1 June 2020.

It looks like the 1.5 meter society is here to stay in the near future. When cultural city life stops and everyone stays at home and works from home as much as possible, increasingly more people suffer from loneliness.

RAUM is looking forward to receiving proposals that are suitable for the RAUM square in Utrecht. Or proposals that enable people to visit others in the public space of the district in a mobile form. The plan must be accessible to a very wide target group. It's an advantage if the installation is connected to a virtual environment. Professional guidance is provided for exports and a budget is made available.
