25 NWA-ROUTES ARE GUIDING

NWO: CALL EXECUTION NATIONAL RESEARCH AGENDA

NWO has opened the first round of financing within the research program for the Dutch National Research Agenda (NWA). The program stimulates broadly composed interdisciplinary consortia to submit research proposals that fit within one or several of the 25 NWA-routes.

The research is aimed at the entire chain of fundamental, applied and practice-oriented research. 52.2 million euro has been reserved for this round of financing. The preliminary deadline for signing up is 11 September 2018.

By investing in innovative and socially relevant research via the 25 routes, the National Research Agenda aims to develop knowledge for scientific breakthroughs and societal challenges. With regard to assessing the research proposals, we will pay particular attention to the whole chain of knowledge of colleges, universities, university hospitals, TO2 institutions, state universities and societal partners (public and private). The proposals can be submitted in one of the following three ranges: 500,000 – 2 million euros, 2 – 5 million euros and 5 – 10 million euros.

Criteria
The proposals are assessed based on the following three criteria:
• Quality of the Research Proposal;
• Quality of the consortium;
• Potential scientific and/or societal breakthroughs
More information about the operational side and sub-aspects of these criteria can be find in paragraph 4.2 of the call for proposals.
