Explore the New KEM Monitor 2025: ‘A Mapping of the Latest Methodological Developments’

On Tuesday 25 November 2025, the KEM Monitor 2025 was presented during the KEM-Network Conference: How do you convince your client? The monitor offers a concise and up-to-date overview of the key developments in Key Enabling Methodologies (KEMs) from the past year. These (design) methods support professionals in addressing complex societal challenges and transitions.

The monitor serves as a complementary assessment to the renewed KEM Agenda 2024–2027 and was developed in collaboration with more than sixty experts from research and practice. Together, they gathered new insights and identified the most urgent knowledge questions for the coming years.

In this digital publication, you will find:

• For each of the eleven KEM categories: new trends and developments, concrete examples and research questions.
• Two chapters with practice-based knowledge questions on the selection, application, and value and impact of methods.
• Key cross-category reflections and broader contextual developments, including European innovation programmes and the National Technology Strategy.
