Fieldlab 3DMedical

On November 30th, 2017, the new Field Lab 3DMedical will officially launch. This first practice environment in the area of 3D-printing for the medical sector is part of a partnership between UMC Utrecht, Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, ProtoSpace, Utrecht Science Park, Smart Industry and private companies and institutions.

Field Lab 3DMedical
The Field Lab 3D Medical combines facilities, knowledge and expertise on 3D-printing and medical imaging at the Utrecht Science Park. Together with private partners, this will be used to form a strong innovation cluster with the objective to facilitate personalized health care through 3D technology. From surgical models to bio-printed implants.

At the Field Lab companies and start-ups can ask their innovation questions in the area of medical 3D-printing and imaging. They will have access there to knowledge and expertise, and can make use of the lab and prototype facilities of the 3D Face Lab and the Utrecht Biofabrication Facility of UMC Utrecht, ProtoSpace and Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. They will also be able to have research done or to get going in a start-up setting. Finally, the Field Lab can play a role in clinical validation and commercialization of the research.
