CLICKNL at Dutch Design Week 2026

From 17 to 25 October, Eindhoven will once again be all about Dutch Design Week. CLICKNL will also be there with a range of programmes and contributions focusing on design power, research and innovation.

During Dutch Design Week, we bring together designers, researchers, companies, policymakers and other professionals around the question of what design can contribute to societal challenges.

From the Design Innovation Sessions and the first public programme of The Power of Design & Transitions to CreativeNL Live, How Design Works, and PONT: throughout the week, there are various opportunities to gain new insights, discover projects and meet others from the design and innovation field.

Design Innovation Sessions 2026

During the Design Innovation Sessions, design, research and practice come together around current societal challenges. Through keynotes, inspiring projects and collaborative conversations, we explore how design-driven approaches can contribute to change and innovation. This year’s themes are Thriving Planet, Digital Futures and Health & Well-being. Each session is followed by a networking lunch.

The Power of Design & Transitions

On Tuesday afternoon, 20 October, the first public event of Design Power & Transitions will take place. With a keynote by David Abbink, a marketplace where you can discover the new Design Power & Transitions projects, and six working sessions, the event offers an insight into the programme.

During the workshops, project teams from the first round will share their initial insights, methods and experiences and discuss them with designers, researchers and other professionals. Linda Vermaat will moderate the afternoon.

Creative NL Live

On Friday 23 October, CreativeNL Live kicks off the final weekend of Dutch Design Week. Under the theme Why the world needs more design, designers, researchers, companies, and Dutch and European policymakers come together to forge new connections and bridge the gap between research, practice, policy, and funding. Not a formal conference session, but an accessible gathering where content and networking come together.

CreativeNL Live | Why the world needs more design

The plenary program focuses on different perspectives on the creative industry and the power of design. Afterward, there will be plenty of time to continue the conversation while enjoying some snacks and drinks.

How Design Works

On Friday 23 October, the second edition of How Design Works will take place during Dutch Design Week, organised by Dutch Design Foundation and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. CLICKNL director Bart Ahsmann will take the stage as a guest speaker, sharing his perspective on the role of design in innovation and societal integration.

How Design Works

This second edition focuses on Design & Integrated Innovation. How can design help make technological innovation not only functional, but also socially meaningful, usable, acceptable and sustainable? Moderator Tiara Spalburg will discuss this with CLICKNL director Bart Ahsmann and other guests. The talk show is followed by a networking lunch and a guided design tour in the afternoon.

PONT at Dutch Design Week

The Public Design Practice (PONT) will also be in Eindhoven during Dutch Design Week. Discover what designers and the government can achieve when they work together, and how a design-based approach can help address societal challenges. PONT will bring this to life during DDW with an exhibition, workshops, and a conference.

  • Visit the exhibition at Ketelhuisplein and try out tools to strengthen collaboration for yourself. Join one of the workshops at The Square, or attend the Public Design Coalitions conference at the Evoluon on Thursday, October 22.
