Call Human Capital

Senior researchers employed at Dutch universities, universities of applied science and other knowledge institutions can together apply for funding for research into learning in learning communities in the context of Human Capital. The project consortium should also include partners from the field from the building engineering services sector and education.

Society and the labour market are transforming. Robotisation, automation and increasing flexibility are testing the adaptive abilities of individuals and society. That elicits the question:

  • How can people learn, develop and adapt throughout their lives?
  • Which cognitive, emotional and social mechanisms and contextual factors play which role in this process?

Can knowledge about this be effectively translated into a better learning-work set up?
This call is a public-private collaboration with the topsectors. In their Human Capital Roadmap 2016-2020, learning-work networks and lifelong learning/development are connected in the 'Learning Communities' conceptual model.

This call calls for research on the topic of the first paragraph within specific and defined Learning Communities. Only research in the building engineering services sector can be financed. Educational institutions (MBO and/or HBO) should be included and the learning-work networks should sufficiently display the characteristics of Learning Communities.

Who can apply
Senior researchers employed at Dutch universities, universities of applied science and other knowledge institutions (see Call for Proposals for details) can together apply for funding. The project consortium should also include partners from the field from the building engineering services sector and education.

A minimum requirement for each consortium is that at least one university research group, one lectorate (HBO) and one educational institution (MBO and/or HBO) participate. Of course, one or more building engineering services companies must also be involved. The HRM department of the participating companies must play a recognisable role in the consortium.

When to apply
There is no pre-proposal phase. The deadline for submitting full proposals is Tuesday 7 May 2019 at 14.00 hours CE(S)T.

Please visit the NWO website for more information about this call.
