Week of the Circular Economy

From March 11 through March 16, the ninth edition of Circular Economy Week will take place. During this week, companies and organizations that are at the forefront of the sustainable transition will give an insight into their circular business model. During workshops, knowledge sessions and tours organized by circular frontrunners, (budding) circular entrepreneurs can meet and get inspired.

The Netherlands aims to have a fully circular economy by 2050. Through more efficient use of materials, reuse and refurbishment, a circular economy not only contributes to a global decrease in greenhouse gas emissions. It also contributes significantly to environmental protection and biodiversity. Circular business lowers material costs and reduces our dependence on price increases and uncertain delivery times. During the ninth edition of the Week of the Circular Economy, pioneers from various industries will give interested parties the opportunity to gain inspiration and exchange knowledge and experience in the field of circularity.

Circular hubs and participating companies and organizations across the country will offer a comprehensive program for partners, associates and curious visitors during the week. From panel discussions to workshops, company presentations and networking opportunities, the program offers a range of opportunities to engage interested parties in the latest developments in the circular economy. For circular frontrunners, it is the opportunity to meet and exchange knowledge and experiences.

CIRCO

The circular economy does not arise by itself. CIRCO focuses on getting a new market moving. CIRCO therefore activates - with the support of the government - entrepreneurs and creative professionals to (re)design products, services and business models in order to then do circular business. In this way it also contributes to long-term solutions to social problems.

As a program of CLICKNL, CIRCO activates production companies, circular entrepreneurs and creative professionals to start working with circular design in a concrete/concrete way. By (re)designing products, services and business models, circular entrepreneurship becomes possible in many cases. For this purpose CIRCO developed a - now proven - method. By now, more than 1,400 companies and 650 (industrial) designers have been trained in the Netherlands and internationally.
