New Power of Design & Transitions programme now open for project ideas
How can we better empower creative professionals to tackle societal challenges and accelerate transitions? The new CLICKNL programme Power of Design & Transitions is committed to developing knowledge and methods that can be used to better design for transitions. Starting today, creative professionals and knowledge institutions can jointly submit project ideas.
Whether it is social design, game development or architecture: to design well for transitions, more knowledge and methods are needed. Consider, for example, knowledge about public values and the inclusive society, methods for designing a healthy living environment and the use of technology to support sustainable behaviour. Knowledge and methods needed in design practice should be developed and tested.
Unique opportunity
The Power of Design & Transitions programme offers creative professionals, knowledge institutions and organisations operating around a societal challenge the unique opportunity to conduct research as equal partners. In this design research, practical questions and the scientific approach will go hand in hand. Knowledge and methods will be developed that are of direct value to better design for transitions. In addition, we will learn about the use of the power of design for societal challenges. Within the programme, the projects will share knowledge and experiences among themselves and with the entire creative sector.
For the first request, €3,250,000 is available. With this, five complementary collaborative projects will start in 2025, each receiving a maximum of €650,000 grant.

In the coming period, potential project teams can submit their project ideas. To create strong teams, Power of Design & Transitions is hosting a matchmaking event on November 7 in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Sign up, and write this down in your calendar so you will not miss it! In addition, a message board will be online on October 21 that will provide a space to exchange and explore project ideas.
