KIC - Health & care

KIC - Lifestyle and Living Environment

In the Netherlands, people with a low SES have a six years shorter lifespan on average and experience 15 years of lower health than people with a high SES. People with a low SES more frequently experience an accumulation of health, lifestyle and living environment problems as well as issues in the area of housing, working, learning and living. Sustainable interventions that focus on health promotion are meant to provide a solution for these vulnerable groups.

Purpose and objectives
The aim of the call is a structural improvement of the equality of opportunities to live healthily through the (further) development and application of sustainable, innovative, preventative interventions aimed at both lifestyle and living environment. In this call, AI will be used to develop these evidence-based and effective interventions.

The multitude and diversity of health and health-related data about this vulnerable group can be used far better with the deployment of the key technology artificial intelligence (AI). This technology can act as a catalyst in accelerating and improving the development of new interventions and monitoring the effectiveness of interventions. Furthermore, the interventions are based on previously acquired results and the use of learning communities.
