Talkshow: Responsible AI for media
Kick-off of the two-year research project DRAMA: Designing Responsible AI for Media Applications.
About the talk show
Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a more important role in media organisations. For example, in the automatic creation, personalisation, distribution and archiving of media content. This is about responsible use of AI. For example, there are concerns about discrimination against groups due to bias in algorithms and about more polarisation due to the dissemination of radical content and disinformation by algorithms. But also about violation of privacy in case of non-transparent handling of data. Many media organisations deal with the question of how to deal responsibly with AI applications.
In this talk show, we will discuss the question of how AI can be used responsibly in the media. Doing this with media professionals who deal with the question in their daily practice and with researchers in the field of AI, ethics and design who can deal with this question. Topics covered include: How do we ensure diversity in AI-driven focus? How can speech recognition be made inclusive for everyone to work? How can humans and machines work together to produce new, creative content?
