Online Q&A Innovation Labs
The Creative Industries Fund NL and CLICKNL are organising an online information meeting, on behalf of all national culture funds, with the aim of introducing the innovation labs 'product differentiation', 'digitisation' and 'spatial design' to makers and institutions and to offer them the opportunity to participate in the exploration of different themes within these three labs.
Do you have ideas about how the cultural and creative sector can recover after the corona crisis and do you see opportunities to develop a new view on artistic forms or presentation methods, create new digital expressions and revenue models or design alternative forms of use of space within the one and a half meter society?
Do you or your organisation want to conduct research by design into new solutions in an existing practical environment as part of a consortium and do you want to contribute ideas about the future of the cultural and creative sector, then register for the online information meeting Q&A Innovation Labs on Thursday 2 September between 12.00 and 13:45 p.m.

Initiative
The innovation labs project is an initiative of Minister Van Engelshoven of OCW to give the cultural and creative sector the opportunity to experiment with new working methods and revenue models to become more agile and resilient as a sector after the Covid-19 pandemic. The minister is making €5 million available for this.
Innovation Labs
Three independent quartermasters per lab are currently working on further exploration of the themes by actively seeking out makers and institutions – from the broad cultural and creative sector – and entering into dialogue with them. For example, about which projects or organisations have undergone interesting developments in the past eighteen months, where opportunities and bottlenecks lie and where we as a sector want to go in the future. This exploration will result in three open calls that will be opened in the autumn to which consortia and various partnerships can respond. Think of collaborations between government parties such as municipalities, with creative business services and a cultural institution, for example. We are particularly looking for ambition and economies of scale in the 3 to 6 projects that we will support per innovation lab.

More information about the innovation labs
At the end of September 2021, an open call will be opened for each innovation lab for which project proposals can be submitted by the broad cultural and creative sector, with a closing date at the beginning of November. In December 2021, independent advisory committees are expected to select 3 to 6 proposals per innovation lab.
During all phases of the project, each quartermaster is responsible for strengthening the organising and learning capacity within the innovation lab by stimulating mutual exchange and peer review. This also happens between the innovation labs and with the public.
The implementation of projects will take place in the period up to the end of 2022, with a major presentation of the projects and results at Dutch Design Week 2022. Joint learning, connecting and sharing knowledge of and about projects is central to these innovation labs.
The Creative Industries Fund NL, also on behalf of the other national culture funds, acts as secretary of the innovation labs in collaboration with CLICKNL.
