Event
Gala of Water
Life without water is impossible for humans, animals and nature. But how is our water actually doing? Is there enough for everyone and also: how do we protect ourselves from (polluted) water? On March 14, various scientists will give a glimpse into their urgent research and we will see surprisingly different perspectives on water during the Gala of Water in Utrecht.
A selection from the program: making drinking water from salt water from the North Sea and marketing it, climate-proofing the urban environment, or more efficient recycling of drinking water for reuse. Issues that lend themselves perfectly to practice-based research.
Speakers
Some speakers on March 14: Ted Veldkamp, lecturer Climate and Water at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and lecturer-researcher climate-proof city at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences; Ellen Weerman, lecturer Climate-Resilient Landscapes at HAS Green Academy and Roberta Hofman, senior scientist at KWR Water Research Institute and associate lecturer Water at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. But the Gala also offers a stage to musician Saartje van Camp and photographer Kadir van Lohuizen.
Practical information
The Gala takes place at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, starting at 19:30. Initiators are science magazine New Scientist and Hogeschool Utrecht. Regieorgaan SIA is partner of the event.
