City X Environment

In this design study, which is carried out by BNA in collaboration with TU Delft, Hogeschool van Amsterdam and a number of design agencies, it is investigated whether we can succeed in climate adaptation in public green spaces with imagination and the search for new forms of collaboration.

Can we use buildings to accelerate and intensify climate adaptation in order to contribute to a climate-proof and water-resilient Netherlands?

The following statements are tested at a few test locations in the Netherlands:

Statement 1
If we want to accelerate climate adaptation, we will need new strategies to make Dutch residential areas climate-proof.

Statement 2
If we want to extend climate adaptation to the lowest scale level, the buildings must also participate.

Project budget € 155,600, whereby € 48,000 PPS allowance is used.
