Open | CIIIC and TNO Call for National IX Lab Infrastructure

In collaboration with TNO, a new CIIIC call has been launched to establish a national infrastructure of IX Labs.
These labs form the foundation through which the Dutch IX community gains access to state-of-the-art facilities and expertise in immersive experiences (IX).

The call provides funding for both investments and operations of up to five IX Labs, with the aim of ensuring that these labs remain structurally available after the CIIIC program concludes.
An IX Lab may consist of a single organization or a consortium of multiple partners and must have a sustainable business model for its long-term operation.

Who can apply
The call is open to organizations and consortia active in the development of IX productions and services. Parties can apply to qualify as an IX Lab and participate in a dialogue phase with TNO and other stakeholders. During this phase, proposals will be refined into fully developed plans that align with the national IX Lab infrastructure. Based on these proposals, TNO will select up to five IX Labs to form a consortium.

Budget and deadlines
Funding per IX Lab: up to €2,880,000 for the full duration of the CIIIC program (through 2029):

  • Phase 1: up to €2,115,000
  • Phase 2: up to €765,000

The maximum subsidy rate is 47.4%, with applicants required to contribute their own matching funds.

Key dates

  • Application deadline: 26 November 2025
  • Dialogue phase begins: early December 2025
  • Submission of full proposal: 6 February 2026
