Transitions in youth care require design expertise to enable new forms of organization and collaboration. However, the resulting design interventions, such as new working methods, tools, or forms of collaboration, often prove difficult to embed in practice.
This project investigates why these interventions are not implemented sustainably and how design processes can better align with the dynamics of transition in youth care. It builds on insights from service ecosystem design, which considers tangible and intangible interventions in relation to the broader system in which they are co-created. Design practices in three youth care regions are being researched and further developed based on this approach.
The project team consists of design practices, knowledge institutions, and regional youth care partners who collaborate to develop knowledge, methods, and building blocks for the transformative use of design in this domain.
