Paris Proeftuin
The built environment plays a crucial role in the climate challenge. Currently, the focus is on reducing emissions during construction and material use, while approximately 70% of the potential reduction lies in the use phase of an area: user behavior regarding energy, mobility, consumption, and food. The Climate and Energy mission theme lacks an integrated approach that brings together the physical environment, behavior, and organizational structures to unlock this potential.
To create Paris-Proof areas, we must also redesign the development process. The key lies in leveraging the collective power of residents more intelligently and earlier through continuous learning pathways. Orgware—the processes, tools, and rules that support collaboration and learning in an area—enriches the Key Enabling Methodologies. It helps residents, developers, and institutions to collaboratively decide, manage, and innovate; from development to sustainable use.
