Discover your innovation's market opportunities

Programme Take-off hbo

Your product could be the solution to a societal challenge. That is why you want to research how feasible your innovative idea is by mapping out the technological and economic opportunities. Taskforce for Applied Research SIA gives you that possibility by financing feasibility studies for your research-based idea.

This scheme finances a feasibility study. You can research patents, gather information about available technology or do a market analysis.

Who is it for?
Students, teachers, researchers and lecturers from universities of applied sciences (UAS) that want to research the feasibility of an innovative idea. If the take-off UAS project proposal is granted, the Taskforce SIA will pay out the money to the UAS who will take on the financial responsibility for the correct execution of the project plan. The UAS will use that money to cover the cost of the feasibility study according to the budget plan set out in the proposal.

When can you apply?
You can submit proposals twice a year. The first call Take-off – phase 1 2019 is now open. You can submit your proposals until 2 April 2019, 14:00 CE(S)T.

What are the assessment criteria for the applications?
The submitted proposals are assessed by an independent commission. This commission consist of entrepreneurial researchers from different fields of research, entrepreneurs, external experts and private financers. After the initial written assessment, there will be an opportunity to briefly orally explain your plans to the commission upon invitation. This is an important part of the assessment process.

The proposals are assessed based on 4 criteria that each have equal weight for the assessment:
• Knowledge base and innovation
• Commercial potential
• Quality of the team
• Quality of the project plan
