Social Earning Capacity
Success factors for regional innovation ecosystems
What are the success factors, bottlenecks and knowledge needs surrounding mission-driven innovation and the realisation of social earning capacity? Last year, more than 50 regional innovation ecosystems were surveyed to gain insight into the operation of multi-stakeholder collaboration, success factors and knowledge questions.
The Knowledge and Innovation Agenda for Societal Earning Capacity (KIA MV) aims to accelerate the upscaling of innovations and thus to greater economic and social impact to come. The focus is on regional partnerships. There, multiple challenges often come together and the urgency to accelerate transitions is felt. The KIA MV organises the improvement, development and application of methodologies, models and work forms for mission-driven innovation.
Exploration of regional innovation ecosystems
How is the balance found between strengthening the economic earning capacity and achieving an impact on social goals? Which tools are used for upscaling innovation? What are bottlenecks and questions regarding governance, the involvement of citizens or legislation and regulations?
This request yielded various insights. For example, citizens appear to be little involved in the initial process of an innovation. Underlying the innovation ecosystems seem to lack shared insights about where, how and when to involve citizens. These and other knowledge questions have been submitted to NWO and SIA for the programming of research. Curious about the further take-aways? You can find the publication of the exploration here.
