NWO: call Take-off

Take-off is a programme for the stimulation and support of activity and entrepreneurship in the scientific community. Each year, there is a spring round and an autumn round which is open for starters. These open calls offer financing opportunities for entrepreneurial researchers at NWO-recognised research institutes, HBO institutions and researchers who make use of knowledge from TO2 institutions.

Innovation within all scientific areas
The aim of Take-off is to create innovative activity based on the knowledge development and utilisation by researchers at knowledge institutions. This activity can be about product, process, care or service innovation in the broadest sense of the word and within all scientific areas – from exact science and technology or life sciences to the humanities and social/behavioural sciences.

Bridging the funding gap
Valuable research results sometimes threaten to go unused because knowledge and innovations must endure a difficult path to the market. Financing is needed to bridge the divide between the research and the market. The programme Take-off bridges this funding gap in the early phase of an undertaking.

Time schedule for Take-off Spring 2019
The time schedule below is applicable to all calls of the spring round of Take-off 2019, with the exception of the Spring Round Take-off HBO phase 1: feasibility studies.

• Deadline for submitting declarations of intention: 05 February 2019, 14.00 hours CET.
• Deadline for submitting elaborated requests: 05 March 2019, 14.00 hours CET (declaration of intention is required to be able to submit an elaborated proposal).
• Interviews with the requesters: 06 May until 31 May 2019
• Publication of remunerations: 21 June 2019 (subject to change).
