Call serious games: better functioning through better choices

Call for entrepreneurs to develop games that help people make physical, mental and/or social choices. They are looking for tools that help patients in their daily life at home, in their neighborhoods, at school, at work or during hobbies.

People that have one or more illnesses or conditions are forced – consciously or unconsciously – to make choices due to their conditions. These choices change depending on the day and on the situation, on personal or external factors. They generally take those decisions themselves or with the help of their (informal) carers or healthcare providers.

The serious games that will be developed are meant to help the patients make conscious decisions and take control of their own lives. The games also contribute to the mission of the Societal Challenge ‘Health and Care’: vital, functioning citizens in a healthy economy. The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and the Top Sector Life Sciences & Health (LSH) are looking to offer a number of practice locations (testing grounds) to test the prototypes. The call is for phase 1: feasibility assessment.
