Call: innovative internet projects
Looking for funding for a groundbreaking internet project with social value? The SIDN Fund call is now open! In addition to the open call (for all applications that align with the fund’s objectives), extra attention will be given to Responsible AI. Internet projects that use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to realize positive social impact without losing sight of the human dimension are explicitly invited to apply.
Theme of the Year: Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Responsible AI is the SIDN Fund’s theme of the year. Artificial Intelligence is currently going through a number of important and fast developments. New applications of AI emerge every day, and AI is becoming more common in day-to-day life as well. Siri, the smart speech assistant is a good example of this. The benefits are evident. Smart algorithms can be used to make life easier, more efficient, safer, healthier and more sustainable. But AI also raises questions about the impact on society and the relationship between people and technology.
SIDN Fund asked three AI experts about their views. They indicated that many people are led by fear and concern, but that we are at the same time responsible for the developments in AI. Technology is not neutral. How do we stay in charge and ensure proper conditions for the use of AI in our society?
Through this theme of the year, SIDN Fund wants to play an active role in building knowledge and best practices around Responsible AI and make a contribution to the social debate.
