Call Cybersecurity - Digital Security & Privacy

This call opens the way for fundamental and applied cybersecurity research to be undertaken within the context of a single project. Each proposal requires the formation of a consortium involving at least one accredited knowledge institute and at least one non-academic private co-financier. Researchers in the creative industry can also apply!

Applications may be submitted on behalf of consortia consisting of at least one academic researcher (main applicant) and (optional) co-applicants (academic or university of applied sciences), and at least one private cofinancier.

An applicant must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification and must participate in the project. The main applicant and co-applicants must have a doctorate from or be a professor at a Dutch university.

Applicants must have employment contracts for at least the duration of the project or hold a tenure track appointment at a Knowledge Institute recognised by NWO. Researchers at universities of applied sciences must demonstrate sufficient experience in the relevant field of research and in overseeing scientific research, and may only act as co-applicant.

What to apply for
In a multidisciplinary multi-domain project, a minimum of two and a maximum of three fixed term scientific positions may be applied for.

In a monodisciplinary or mono-domain multidisciplinary project, a minimum of one and a maximum of two fixed term scientific positions can be funded.

Applications of both variants may, in addition, include financing for researchers at universities of applied sciences and/or non scientific personnel, each up to a maximum of € 100,000.

When to apply

  • The deadline for the submission of (mandatory) pre-proposals is 24 January 2019, 14:00 CE(S)T.
  • The deadline for the submission of full proposals is 16 April 2019, 14:00 CE(S)T.
