Textile Design Creathon 2018

Are you a young professional or a Bachelors, Masters or PhD student at a university or a university of applied sciences, and do you work or study in Belgium, the Lille Métropole Area or the Netherlands? Are you a design, textile and/or fashion enthusiast or do you simply wish to share your creativity in order to build an innovative project jointly with young Belgian, Dutch and French students?

Jointly organized by the Lille Métropole Area (MEL) and the French-Dutch Network (RFN), the creathon will take place on March, 28, 29 and 30 2018 in Lille. During this three day event, mixed teams composed of young people of different nationalities will be challenged to propose innovative solutions for current issues in the field of textile, fashion and design. The purpose of the creathon consists in the achievement of a final product after the creathon. This theme coincides with the nomination of Lille Métropole as World Design Capital in 2020. The best project will receive an award.

The creathon is aimed at students, young professionals from 18 to 30 years old. There are no nationality criteria but you must study or work in Belgium, the Lille Metropole Area or in the Netherlands. Students and young professionals between 18 and 30 years old can apply for this event which is open to all disciplines. Projects may indeed include other disciplines such as green chemistry, health, engineering techniques, history, art history, etc., in order to cover the whole chain of reflection, elaboration and manufacturing of a product.
