Fiona Jongejans

Biography

Fiona Jongejans holds an MSc in Industrial Design from Eindhoven University of Technology and is a partner and designer at morgenmakers, a design firm based in Eindhoven and Amsterdam. Founded in 2018, morgenmakers designs for societal challenges with and for people. Fiona is skilled at navigating complexity with clarity and direction. She brings a strong strategic mindset, combining technical expertise with a design thinking approach. Fiona is experienced in design research within elderly care and enjoys working in co-creative settings. She actively connects knowledge and experience across different levels of organizations, fostering collaboration and shared insight. With an open mindset and a strong sense of purpose, she brings both energy and decisiveness to every project.

During the Design Innovation Sessions, Fiona, together with Anna de Jonge, will present the new project SINO (translated from Dutch, SINO is short for: System Interventions with Impact for New Elderly Care). With rising staff shortages and an ageing population, the care system is under pressure, and in need of fundamental change. How can design research tackle the fragmented care system by developing interventions that fit specific contexts and work together? Together with designers, care professionals, informal caregivers, and policymakers, the team is building shared practices through co-creation and learning. By positioning designers as strategic actors in care transitions, we aim to move beyond isolated pilots toward sustainable system impact.
