PublicSpaces conference 2026
What does the development of digital technology mean for our democracy? And how can a digital public space be shaped around democratic values?
During the sixth edition of the PublicSpaces Conference, PublicSpaces and Waag Futurelab explore these questions together with international speakers, designers, researchers and policymakers. The programme focuses on the role of technology in public debate and the impact of digital platforms, algorithms and AI on information flows and democratic processes.
The conference examines how a digital public space can support a healthy democratic society. Topics include digital autonomy, public AI and new forms of social platforms. The programme features keynotes, panel discussions, workshops and an art programme.
