Making space for change together

PONT | Social Innovators

How can designers, policymakers, and other social innovators find each other and create impact together? During Dutch Design Week 2025, Publieke Ontwerppraktijk (PONT) and Coalitions bring these changemakers together for a morning of insights, real-world examples, and exchange.

The morning opens with author Tommy Wieringa, who discusses his essay Optimism Without Hope — a call to keep taking action, even when change isn’t guaranteed to deliver immediate results. Moderator Marsha Simon leads the program, featuring speakers such as Martijn Paulen, Nynke Tromp, Daniëlle Arets, and Tabo Goudswaard, who reflect on how to make space for social innovation — within government, in organizations, and across disciplines.

The morning concludes with a shared exercise inviting participants to connect with one another on a more personal level.
