Launch Amsterdam Immersive Alliance
Come, see, meet and immerse yourself in the educational and research world of 'immersive media.'
In recent years, "immersive media," of which virtual reality is an important part, is finding a much wider audience. The headsets are becoming affordable, the quality is improving and more and more creators are using it to tell stories. Within the four colleges in the Center of Expertise for Creative Innovation (CoECI) network, a lot is also happening in the field of immersion. So much, in fact, that a new platform has been established: Amsterdam Immersive Alliance (AIA).
You are welcome to attend the festive launch of this platform on Thursday, May 25, 2023, 16:00 - 17:00 at the AHK Culture Club at the Marineterrein, Amsterdam.
About the platform: education, research and practice come together
The platform offers an overview of all knowledge and expertise from the four Amsterdam colleges around the topic of immersion. You will find courses, workshops, student projects, research projects and labs. By bundling knowledge we want to inspire students and teachers to start new initiatives, but above all we want to offer insight into the state-of-the art education and research related to immersive content. It is also the start of a more intensive collaboration between the colleges and with external partners.
About the program
A festive launch of the platform will be followed by a plenary introduction to the people who made this possible and you will be taken into the world of immersion by several experts from the network. Together with the audience they will explore new possibilities, wishes and collaborations. After all, there is still much to discover. During the closing drinks, students will show their projects and you can experience what it is like to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of immersion.
