Highlight Delft
The time has come from 18-20 November: the fourth edition of Highlight Delft! The three-day festival is a route through the innovative city of Delft along unique places in the centre and on the TU Delft Campus. During Highlight Delft, you'll see installations in which art and technology influence each other, so that you can experiment and discuss where there are still unexplored perspectives for our technological future. The Early Bird tickets for the festival will be on sale from Friday 11 June.
Highlight Delft is committed to making connections between artists, scientists, (tech) companies and students. During the festival, these unique collaborations, with innovative and experimental results, are proudly presented. The program in November includes a special selection of installations, a small selection of what you can expect.
Let yourself be carried away by the impressive swarm of autonomous electronic creatures of Matteo Marangoni & Dieter Vandoren, who exhibit their work Komorebi during the festival. The hundred electronic critters react to light and sound, inspired by how sunlight shines through the foliage (Komorebi in Japanese).
Don't just come and admire, but also participate in Koki'o, an interactive flower field by Luuk Meints. Develop the shape, color and pattern of the flower together with this Delft maker using an open-source digital manufacturing method and become a co-designer of this work of art!
In The Student Hotel, you will find Row, by the design collective TUNDRA from St. Petersburg during the festival. Their enchanting installation consists of a row of holographic fan projectors. With this, they not only make an impressive work of art, but also an infrastructure with which creative people can experiment. Row is a perfect example of how you can use technology in an innovative and creative way to create something that has not been seen before.
This year, Highlight Delft consists of two districts, Nieuw Delft and TU Delft Campus. This year too, the festival will take you on a route along special locations in Delft, such as the ESP lab and the Co-Creation Center on the TU Delft Campus, where we work on shaping the future every day.
Can't wait either? Visit The Student Hotel Delft where artist Jeanine Verloop is already at work. She is experimenting with the possibilities of scientific glassblowing and is developing kinetic glassware. Until June 25, Jeanine is artist in residence here and she gives a guided tour twice a week.
