BOOST Smart Industry Annual Event - smart production techniques in practice

Specifically intended for companies in the manufacturing industry in the east of the Netherlands. What is AI and how can we use it to make our production smarter and more efficient? There are many definitions of Artificial Intelligence, but in the end it comes down to how you apply this technology. As introduction this afternoon, a short explanation is given on the broad deployability of AI as a key enabling technology.

There are two messages. First, AI is a broad field in which intelligent systems can be developed in various ways. Second, if you want to get started with AI, a lot will come at you and your company. A step-by-step plan is introduced for this that can help. A few practical examples from research indicate what you should pay attention to, so that a good framework is created for the sessions and discussions this afternoon, and the possible follow-up actions.

dr. Jeroen Linssen is associate professor of Applied Data Science in the Ambient Intelligence professorship at Saxion University of Applied Sciences. He has a background in cognitive artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction, and with his team researches how AI-based systems can best interact with people in different domains (tech industry, healthcare).
