More than Planet

This project involves a public-private partnership investigating how environmental sciences, humanities and arts can contribute to socially inclusive planetary and ecological mindsets.

In a world where 75% of the land surface experiences human pressure, how people imagine the planet provides a substantial impact on the environment itself. Such environmental images are composed by a number of underlying concepts, value systems, visual cultures and technologies used to visualize the earth and its environment. However, technologies are neither neutral nor socially inclusive. Waag Futurelab recognizes the opportunity to develop a more coherent understanding in how environmental imagery is made and how the creative sector makes it possible to give citizens resources that enable them to be not just audiences, but actors in environmental transitions.

$150,000 will be used as a PPP program grant.
