ACTIONPLAN CIRCULAR TEXTILES (ACT)
The Actionplan Circular Textiles (ACT) works towards a future-proof Dutch textile sector (textiles, clothing, leather and footwear). The sector is under pressure due to international competition, an ageing workforce, fragmented digitalisation and upcoming European legislation. At the same time, there are strong foundations: a rich textile history, a solid knowledge base and regions actively driving circular innovation.
Within ACT, companies, knowledge institutions and public authorities collaborate on the sector’s circular transition. The focus is on strengthening what already exists, connecting initiatives and accelerating innovation. This includes developments in materials, recycling, digitalisation, design and logistics.
The approach centres on high-value innovation. Not through large-scale production, but through knowledge development, new technologies and smart collaboration across the value chain. In this way, the Netherlands can position itself as a strong player in the European circular textile sector.
ACT stimulates collaboration and helps align initiatives more effectively. By sharing knowledge and working together, a coherent ecosystem emerges in which regions and organisations reinforce and accelerate each other.
