Human Capital

NWO call 'Human Capital - Future of Work' now open

How can working in a concrete learning-work situation in the logistics sector be optimally designed? More specifically, how can a (existing, starting, or developing) Learning Community be designed or adapted to render work-based learning and innovation as a logical part of this? The new call 'Human Capital - Future of Work' wants to gather knowledge and new insights about these subjects.

This call is a public-private collaboration with the top sectors (Logistics, Creative Industry, Social Infrastructure Agenda). In their Human Capital Roadmap 2016-2020, learning-work networks and lifelong learning/development are connected in the 'Learning Communities' (LCs) concept.
The objective of this call is to gather new knowledge and insight into how working in a concrete learning-work situation in the logistics sector can be optimally designed. More specifically, how an (existing, starting, or developing) LC can be designed or adapted to render work-based learning and innovation as a logical part of this. The call also intends to acquire new knowledge and insight into how the setup of an LC can contribute to the development and adaptability of the (learning) organisation.

This call aims for research within Learning Communities. Only research in the logistics sector can be financed. Educational institutions (secondary vocational (MBO) and/or higher vocational (HBO) and/or non-state-funded education) should be included and the learning-work networks should sufficiently display the characteristics of Learning Communities.

Who can apply?
Researchers employed at Dutch universities and other knowledge institutions (see Call for Proposals for details) can together apply for funding. The project consortium should also include partners from the field from the logistics sector and education.

A minimum requirement for each consortium is that at least one university research group and one educational institution (MBO and/or HBO and/or non-state-funded education) participate. Of course, one or more logistics companies must also be involved. The HRM department of the participating company / companies must play a recognisable role in the consortium.

Given the aim of the call, the consortium must have a multidisciplinary composition.

When to apply?
There is no pre-proposal phase. The deadline for submitting full proposals is Tuesday 10 September, 2019 at 14.00 hours CE(S)T.
