Future of Playgrounds

  • RESILIENCE IN SOCIETY
  • DESIGN FOR CHANGE
  • BIG GROUP WORKSHOP

UNStudio aims to inspire participants to disrupt the outmoded design concept of the playground. Playgrounds are traditionally places where parents bring their children to play with other children whilst looking on. UNStudio wants participants to expand on the types of people and interactions that playgrounds can bring together and foster. The moderator will guide participants to create experiential models of socializing, learning and undertaking physical exercise for multiple generations.
In groups of six, participants will devise a design strategy. Each participant will inhabit a ‘role’, like psychologist or grandmother.
